Kevin Tague - Trumpet
Kevin Tague is a trumpet player and educator based in Las Vegas, Nevada. After graduating from Chicago's DePaul University in 1999, he became a fixture of the Chicago music scene for the next decade. A diverse performer, Kevin has played every type of gig possible, from salsa bands to symphony orchestras, and is as likely to be heard playing solo piccolo trumpet as screaming high notes in a funk band. This varied musical experience has carried over to his teaching, with many private students having gone on to receive music performance and education degrees from top universities.
In 2009, Kevin moved west to pursue a Masters Degree in Jazz Performance at the University of Denver. He quickly established himself in the local music scene, performing with jazz bands, orchestras, and musical theater companies throughout the front range region. At the same time, he began working with students at the critically acclaimed Denver School of the Arts, running trumpet clinics, rehearsing jazz ensembles, and teaching music theory to music majors.
In 2012, Kevin took over the trumpet chair for the international tour of Disney's Beauty and the Beast. He performed the show over 300 times for thousands of people a night before moving to Las Vegas in 2013. Currently, he teaches music theory at the University of Nevada Las Vegas while pursuing a Doctorate in Classical Trumpet Performance.
